(View near Gauxholme and Dobroyd, Todmorden)

There is more accommodation in Hebden Bridge than there might first appear to be. As well as the information below, do check the accommodation guides on Hebweb and Visit Calderdale for many more options.

As well as that, nearby towns are often a good, quick option within reach of Hebden Bridge. Calderdale is well connected and full of nice places to stay. The whole run from Manchester to Leeds puts you less than forty minutes away from Hebden Bridge, meaning that if you find somewhere in the Calder Valley, as long as you’re close to a station or a main road, you’ll be in easy reach of Feral Vector. We recommend taking trains around here, though a car is great if you want to do more sightseeing, and while we’ll always encourage cycling, be aware there are steep hills above with wet towpaths below.

Leeds, Manchester, and any of the towns between are good places to stay and get to Hebden Bridge by rail. Halifax, Sowerby Bridge, Todmorden, and Littleborough all have stations with more than one train per hour (if you go near a smaller rural station, e.g. Walsden or Mytholmroyd, you might only have one or two trains per hour in a given direction).

Leeds or Manchester have the widest variety of accommodation options, with trains from Hebden Bridge to both running until sometime between eleven and half past on most nights. We will be doing some evening things in Hebden Bridge, but they won’t go on enormously late as a result of that. (For checking train times, we recommend m.traintimes.org.uk as a lightweight site built with mobile bandwidth and good usability in mind).

If you’ll be getting around by car, as well as towns in the valley you can look North toward Pecket Well and Oxenhope (the Tour de France route came over the climb from Oxenhope, and you can still see graffiti on the road), or south toward Cragg Vale, and still be really close to Hebden Bridge. The ancient village of Heptonstall is just up the hill from Hebden Bridge, but be warned that it’s a steep walk home.

All that said, here are some specific links to accommodation in Hebden Bridge, written up by speaker Graham T. Spence (Thanks Graham!). You’ll find everything in the valley from hotels to more basic camping and hostel options.

Here is a Trip Advisor list of hotels and B&Bs in Hebden Bridge. No major chains, most hotels are coaching houses or inns.

For those missing the city, Hebden Bridge has good direct train links to Leeds and Manchester (also Bradford and Halifax), so there are always the usual hotels, AirBnBs and so on there if you prefer.
