Proteus<\/a> is an\u00a0extremely beautiful game, which will be there to\u00a0play for\u00a0a\u00a0while at\u00a0Bit of\u00a0Alright. It’s filled with naturalistic interactions and\u00a0stripped down forms. I’ve played through several different builds of\u00a0Proteus, and\u00a0each time found them slightly more mesmerising, both through the\u00a0procedurally generated terrain and\u00a0the\u00a0intentionally scripted events. Cause and\u00a0effect aren’t always apparent, with the\u00a0effect of\u00a0making me feel a\u00a0little superstitious about my\u00a0actions within the\u00a0game. Some action I\u00a0assumed caused something can quickly becomes a\u00a0habit, even if it was unrelated. It’s a\u00a0beautiful, abstract, and\u00a0supremely relaxing thing. Fuck realism, this is the\u00a0closest I’ve come to\u00a0the\u00a0feeling of\u00a0a\u00a0walk in\u00a0the\u00a0countryside whilst sat at\u00a0my\u00a0computer.<\/p>\n
